पंडित गोविंद बल्लभ पंत, भारतीय इतिहास में एक महान व्यक्तित्व के रूप जाने जाते हैं। जो कि आधुनिक भारत के निर्माताओं में से एक थे। एक स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, कुशल राजनीतिज्ञ और प्रशासक, पंत ने भारतीय स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन और स्वतंत्रता के बाद के भारत को आकार देने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। राष्ट्र के लिए उनके योगदान को विशेष रूप से सामाजिक सुधार, शिक्षा और शासन के क्षेत्र में सराहा जाता है।
पं गोविंद बल्लभ पंत का जन्म 10 सितंबर, 1887 को वर्तमान उत्तराखंड के कुमाऊं क्षेत्र के अल्मोड़ा के खूंट गांव में हुआ था। उनके पिता पंडित मनोरथ पंत एक सरकारी अधिकारी थे और उनकी मां गोविंदी बाई एक बहुत ही धार्मिक महिला थीं। पंत का प्रारंभिक जीवन हिमालयी क्षेत्र की सादगी और शांति से भरा था, जिसने उनके चरित्र और मूल्यों को आकार दिया।
पंत असाधारण रूप से प्रतिभाशाली छात्र थे। उन्होंने अपनी प्राथमिक शिक्षा अल्मोड़ा में पूरी की और बाद में उच्च शिक्षा के लिए इलाहाबाद चले गए। उन्होंने 1909 में मुइर सेंट्रल कॉलेज (अब इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय) से कानून की डिग्री हासिल की। उनकी शैक्षणिक प्रतिभा ने उन्हें एक उत्कृष्ट वकील के रूप में ख्याति दिलाई। लेकिन यह उनकी गहरी देशभक्ति ही थी जिसने उन्हें जल्द ही स्वतंत्रता संग्राम की ओर आकर्षित किया। पंडित गोविंद बल्लभ पंत की राजनीतिक यात्रा 1920 के दशक की शुरुआत में शुरू हुई। वे महात्मा गांधी से बहुत प्रभावित थे और उन्होंने Non-Violence and Civil Disobedience के सिद्धांतों को अपनाया। पंत ब्रिटिश शासन के खिलाफ विभिन्न आंदोलनों में सक्रिय रूप से शामिल थे, जिनमें असहयोग आंदोलन (1920-22), Civil Disobedience आंदोलन (1930-34) और भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन (1942) शामिल थे।
पंडित गोविंद बल्लभ पंत सिर्फ राजनीतिज्ञ और प्रशासक ही नहीं थे, वे एक समाज सुधारक भी थे। अपने पूरे करियर के दौरान उन्होंने समाज के हाशिए पर पड़े और दबे-कुचले वर्गों के उत्थान के लिए अथक प्रयास किए। वे लैंगिक समानता में दृढ़ विश्वास रखते थे और महिलाओं की स्थिति सुधारने के उपायों का समर्थन करते थे, जिसमें विधवा पुनर्विवाह की वकालत करना और बाल विवाह का विरोध करना शामिल था। शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में भी पंत की विरासत स्पष्ट है। उनका मानना था कि शिक्षा सामाजिक प्रगति की कुंजी है और उन्होंने इसे सभी के लिए सुलभ बनाने के लिए काम किया। उनकी पहल ने उत्तर प्रदेश और पूरे भारत में शिक्षा के अवसरों के विस्तार की नींव रखी। राष्ट्र के लिए उनके योगदान के सम्मान में, पंत को 1957 में भारत के सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया। उनका नाम उत्तराखंड के पंतनगर में गोविंद बल्लभ पंत कृषि और प्रौद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय और देश भर के कई अस्पतालों, कॉलेजों और सड़कों सहित विभिन्न संस्थानों में अमर है।
अंत में, पंडित गोविंद बल्लभ पंत का जीवन भारत की स्वतंत्रता और देश के लोगों के कल्याण के लिए समर्पित था। स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, राजनेता और समाज सुधारक के रूप में उनके योगदान ने देश के इतिहास पर अमिट छाप छोड़ी है। न्यायपूर्ण, समतापूर्ण और एकजुट भारत के बारे में पंत का दृष्टिकोण पीढ़ियों को प्रेरित करता रहेगा। उन्हें याद करते हुए हम न केवल एक नेता बल्कि लोगों के एक सच्चे सेवक का सम्मान करते हैं, जिनकी विरासत भारतीय गणराज्य के लोकतांत्रिक और धर्मनिरपेक्ष ताने-बाने में कायम है।
